MCB-12 /68-69, 121/ 69-70 co.D camp adair, medivac 1/27/70. Absolutly no recollection of tour after thanksgiving 69. navy record only shows member of 7th motor transport batt. Would love to here from someone that was at the same place and time. World was small then and that world does't exist any longer, boys became men, nascar thinks speed is the bomb but we all know no matter where you were in vietnam you had the extremes of uncontrolled fun and p*** in your pants fear. Were all brothers, the body and face change but as soon as your around one of yours the brain fills in all the blanks thought forgotten.
Well it's been awhile since 1969 and MCB 121. Never thought of looking for things a on the net of history of the past until my 27 year old son. Brought it to my attention. Stayed in contact with a few members of the battalion. I was CM 3 and was there in 1969-1970 remember a few names here but never hung out with some . Great finding the site and the couple videos on YouTube that some one has posted. Some times I have to be careful in talking to army and marines that were in the heat of the battle and we had cook outs on the beach, speed boats, and sailboats. If I wasn't for the fact of working 12 hour shifts and the heat you would think we were at a resort Living in Charlotte North Carolina and life is good. Be Blessed and hit me up if you remember me. Dad was in MCB121 years 1967-1970. He is still alive and just celebrated his 74th Birthday today. Born 05/25/1937 in Los Angles California. Later in life he did like some others had alot of fun in life. Later given an option to join the Military. He sign with the Navy and his journey began.. Dad still lives like an everyday SEABEE, always building something, helping so many others every chance he gets.. He has mentioned before that he wondered about people he served with, or if anyone remembered him. He has a collection of old slides somewhere around here from over seas during service. Im doing this for him because he's did alot for me. Anybody that knew him he went by Tom Thompson.
I saw this post from Lara Godbille, Director at the Seabee Museum.
"The objection from the Seabee community about the new museum logo not incorporating the Seabee emblem has been heard loud and clear. Come back to the museum's Facebook page April 30-May 2 to vote on a new museum logo that includes the bee."
